Technical Tour

Several technical tours will be provided during Humanoids 2014. The participants should apply the tour by the on-line registration system. The detailed schedule will be announced later on this page.

Technical Tour 1: AIRBUS

Departure: 15.00 h from Melia Castilla main door
Duration: 3 hours aprox.
Registration is compulsary

The AIRBUS group factory in Getafe, located 20 km south of Madrid, is specialised composites design, development and manufacture, aircrafts´ assembly as well as in the design and manufacturing of tooling for most of the Airbus aircrafts. The facility covers some 840,000 m2, including more than 270,000m2 of buildings, and is the largest aviation facility in the country. It hosts four divisions of the EADS group, Airbus, Airbus Military, Cassidian and Eurocopter. The plant also carries out final assembly of the Eurofighters.

The Center for Automation and Robotics (CAR) is a shared ownership joint center CSIC-UPM. The main objective is to develop a mainly applied research in order to provide useful results to society. Its activities are centered on the scientific-technological areas: Monitoring and Intelligent Control, Perception Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Applied Robotics. In the CAR is done quality research in a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach, contributing both to the advancement of knowledge and to the resolution of specific problems arising from various areas of the industry.
